Frequently Asked Questions

Who provides the downloadable software drivers to allow my scanner to turn on and scan checks?

All downloadable software drivers are provided by your financial institution or property management software company.

Yes, Banksystems will buy back used scanners as long as they are in working order. We can pay for the used scanner or can offer credit towards the purchase of a new machine.

We send a return label via email. You box the machine and ship it back to us. Once received and determined it is in working order, we will mail payment.

It all depends on whether your bank’s deposit software supports the Mac, so it’s a good idea to contact your bank’s helpdesk before ordering a certain scanner.

If you decide that you want to enroll in our Advanced Unit Exchange program, you simply sign up. For $125 a year per scanner, your scanner is covered under a 1-year warranty program. If something happens to your scanner and cannot be fixed via our tech support, a replacement scanner will be sent to you. This option is billed per scanner per year.

The best place to start is usually your bank. Virtually every large and mid-sized bank today offers its own version, as do many community banks and credit unions.

Before you sign up, it’s always a good idea to ask your bank which check scanners are compatible with their software. Some banks require certain models, brands or specific features such as inkjet endorsing.

The IJ stands for Inkjet which allows the scanner to endorse each check with a routing and/or transit number. Certain banks require this feature in order for the scanner to work.

The NJ stands for non-inkjet and will not endorse the checks. We recommend checking with your bank or software provider to get a list of what scanners are compatible.

The VX50.1.1F.IJ stands for 50 documents per minute with a single document feeder, meaning each check has to be hand-fed each time you are wanting to scan a check.

The Panini VX50.SF.U stands for a 50 document per minute scanner with a small feeder that can hold 50 checks at a time and will scan until the feeder is empty. The IJ stands for Ink Jet endorsing.
